We are looking for a high-potential legal professional with early career experience to support the Legal Affairs function. This role is suited to someone who has gained exposure within a legal advisory firm or an in-house legal team and is looking to build their experience within a multinational environment.You will work closely with the Legal Counsel and chip in to a broad range of legal, compliance, and governance activities across the business.

Your day to day

  • Support the preparation of legal documentation for statutory meetings, including General Assemblies
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contracts (services, procurement, distribution, IT, partnerships)
  • Partner with Human Resources on labour-related matters, including employment contracts, dispute prevention, and compliance with labour laws
  • Ensure compliance with personal data protection regulations and internal data privacy policies
  • Provide clear, timely legal advice across a range of business topics
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of legal and regulatory obligations, including tobacco control legislation
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and provide relevant updates (legal watch)
  • Chip in to risk identification, compliance initiatives, and internal awareness activities (training materials, communications)
  • Provide general legal support as required by the Legal Counsel

What we are looking for

  • Completed degree in Law (LLM or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in corporate legal practice (law firm or in-house)
  • Experience within a multinational, international, or cross-border legal environment is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OHADA law and corporate law
  • Good knowledge of contract law
  • Excellent written and verbal  communication skills in English & French is essential
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to synthesize complex information
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital/AI tools
  • No relocation support will be provided for this position
